This is a very complex question my friend. Just looking for any guidance here, thanks for any help. I make the mistake of being way too passive in terms of expansion and diplomacy and since I dont usually pick the fights I don't know if im falling behind the arms race. When do they get a second city via settler, when do they start making T3 units, etc.
What I mean by this is what do people set as their objectives for mid and late game. If there is something just outside my domain that makes it much more appealing but if not I use the turns for other things. Honestly sometimes I don't bother with walls till much much later, and no I don't lose cities left and right. My next assumption would be to get either Shrine or Laboratory, inclined towards Laboratory based on the current Mana demands, and the potential for Observatory to increase the domain. Is it then right to grind out a siege workshop? I don't think I ever bother to do it immediately. if for example it takes 4 turns for each of them, and it wont expand within those, is it still better to have 3 turns of the +250 pop while working on the builders hall than having the +20 prod and get the store house out faster, maybe only missing a turn or 2 of the +250? I'm leaning towards the builders hall being correct since to be a village it needs 3K pop, when it turns it only gains +5 prod, while the builders hall essentially doubles production capacity in an empty domain. Rich domains I tend to go for production first, thinking that it has what it needs at the moment. Generally I rush either Store House or Builders hall, the distinguishing factor is how long it has till the next level up, and what is in the domain. I know there is no cure all, but im looking at being a more aggressive player so I want to be more efficient. So the assumption is that I know nothing of the enemy, and have completely average city domains. I know that this game has a lot more variables in what you build when, but I want to get better so i'm looking at clarification on city add on priorities and such.
